Cragford, Alabama had the distinction in Atlantic Coast Line/Seaboard Coast Line history as being the only siding on the Lineville Subdivision that was signalled (the signal indication to take the siding also was the indication for whether or not the siding track was clear or occupied). Cragford was on a major grade with compensating curves and near zero visibility leading to the decision to wire the siding. |
