North Western Reminder
Title:  North Western Reminder
Description:  The"Lesson Way Road grade crossing signal power box still bore CNW initals when I visited the crossing in a -fruitless- attempt to bag a train. All I saw was a UP MOW truck southbownd! Also, with 9/11 fresh in memory, a local cop stopped to talk to me about what I was doing, but he was very friendly about it and even wished me luck once he saw ~ll was kosher with me. He was a credit to his department.

BNSF 4908
Title:  BNSF 4908
Description:  Roster view of the unit I found on the point of an eastbound ethanol job awaiting departure from the yard. I saw this unit and the one to be the DPU pull up to by the yard office and when I looked again a little later only the 4908 was there as the DPU had gone to the hind end of the train.

Title:  Not An Old Railway Slogan

Description:  What a prize! I once had an HO-scale bay window BN caboose but I never knew they were prototypical until I came across this fresh, pure BN-paint gem at the Aberdeen BNSF yard. Turns out it didn't come from "The Hill Lines" but the good ol' St. Louis, San Francisco instead.

The Depot In The Morning Sun
Title:  The Depot In The Morning Sun
Description:  I contemplated riding the only train being run during the off-season, then decided not to because I did not feel like being the only railfan aboard that day lost in a crowd of off season yokel tourists! I did support the road by buying a neat souvenier -a tiny train molded onto a spike bearing the name of the pike- at the station, though.

Weedy Old Milwaukee
Title:  Weedy Old Milwaukee
Description:  A glimpse from a recent road trip across South Dakota of the ex-Milwaukee Road on the west side of town here. It was taken at the grade crossing next to the Sinclair up of Interstate 90. Sure hope trains one day roll down these rails and across that still grand bridge over the Mighty Mo, which we are on the approach to here. (Could not photograph the bridge itself due to wrong light conditions.)
