POTB's Timber Wig-Wag in the Snow |
Description: |
In 2007 there were still two wig-wags in service on the Tillamook Branch. "Timber" is Southern Pacific timetable wise 18.4 miles "east" (which is actually West.... quite confusing logic) of "Banks", where the other one was. |

Sellers Road Wig-Wag (in color) |
Description: |
After its sister signal on Banks Rd. (the newer crossing can be seen in the far left) was unfortunately taken out by a drunk driver, this wig wag became unique in the fact that it used to not only serve the old SP line seen in action here, but also a parallel SP&S line (why it's on the left side of the road) which used to cross at about where I'm standing in this picture. The SP&S line was recently converted into a trail, this crossing was merged with the Banks Rd. crossing, and this wig wag was preserved in the parking lot of the new trail. This one also suffered damage from trucks and required some salvaged parts from its sister signal to keep it running. |

T-Minus 9 Months Left For This Classic Railroad |
Description: |
Active wig wag, two cadillacs, full SP light package, but the POTB had only about 9 more months before the big storm would permanently decomisson the POTB railroad in early December. The 4368 had been running around in a rather ugly aborted attempt to repaint it back into SP's Black Widow colors for much of its life on the POTB, but around early 2007 it was returned to primer as seen here and then repainted into a unique POTB scheme that would last only months before the lines end. Both locomotives have since been scrapped, and the wig-wag removed but preserved only yards away from its original home. All POTB locomotives were GP and SD9s. The 4368 and 4414 were the oldest POTB locomotives on roster, being transfered to the Port in 1986, with only the 4381 arriving earlier but it was wrecked in 1999. The rest of the SP fleet and the 101 were transfered around 1993, and the BN fleet around 2002. (Somewhat edited and straightened version of a photo I've already uploaded.) |

Semaphores Awaiting Removal |
Description: |
2007 was a year that Oregon lost several of its relics, including the last of the blades on CORP's Roseburg (ex-SP Siskiyou) Subdivision. This is the pair at Davidson Road, recently taken out of service and replaced by far more modern signal systems. |

Former Marcola Line 70 Tonner |
Description: |
The last surviving GE 70 Tonner used on the Springfield-Marcola logging line which i have several pictures of what remains of it in another album. The 70 tonners were used on the line due to the Mckenzie River (Hayden) Bridge in Springfield, which is Oregon's oldest railroad bridge and still stands. Much thanks to Mr. Samuels. |
