Engine weight was 269,000 lb and this Mikado could apply a tractive effort of 53,157 lb* EW King, Jr., writing in Drury (1993) says, "...they literally did everything on the Virginian: switching, pusher duty, coal drags, work trains, fast freights, mixed runs, and passenger trains.".
