Description:  Elmira. Here is the first of five successive duplicate 35mm color slides of photos by David Connor that were taken on 21 March 1956. Prominent here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #1862, an L-1S (2-8-2) "Mikado" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works in February of 1917 and retired in September of 1959 after 42 years of faithful service. Partially visible at the left is PRR cabin car #477974, an N-5C built in the Altoona Car Shops in July of 1942 and presently on display at the Beaver-Lawrence Railway Historical Society's collection in West Pittsburg, Pennsylvania. Produced and distributed by FJC Products of Newport Delaware. (Not From "Stoneborobranch")

Title:  PRR 477974/CR 23111
Description:  Looking as though it is suffering an identity crisis, Pennsylvania Railroad cabin car #477974 (N5C) is in the middle of undergoing a cosmetic restoration in West Pittsburg, Pennsylvania Thursday, May 23, 2013. The cabin car is part of the Beaver-Lawrence Railway Historical Society's collection, which also includes the former P&LE West Pittsburg Station and B&O "UN" interlocking tower. Showing to be built in July of 1942, PRR #477974 eventually became PC #23111 and lastly Conrail #23111. Nine years after taking this photo, the restoration is complete and this N5C now wears full PRR Tuscan red with its original PRR number.
