Looking as though it is suffering an identity crisis, Pennsylvania Railroad cabin car #477974 (N5C) is in the middle of undergoing a cosmetic restoration in West Pittsburg, Pennsylvania Thursday, May 23, 2013. The cabin car is part of the Beaver-Lawrence Railway Historical Society's collection, which also includes the former P&LE West Pittsburg Station and B&O "UN" interlocking tower. Showing to be built in July of 1942, PRR #477974 eventually became PC #23111 and lastly Conrail #23111. Nine years after taking this photo, the restoration is complete and this N5C now wears full PRR Tuscan red with its original PRR number. |
