| Here is a consist from 1974 of the local that ran from Albany GA to Dothan AL. There was another local that ran from Albany to Arlington that handled local work between those 2 points while the local shown here handled local business from Blakely to Dothan. The local shown here basically handled work at Blakely and Hilton GA and Columbia AL. There was a Dothan switch engine that handled the Dothan chores. Cars going to Hilton were destined for the paper mill via the CIRR at Hilton. Note the carloads of coal in SLSF hoppers which were originating in the Birmingham area. Also note the CG woodrack. There were still a lot of CG stenciled cars around and the surprise here is only one was on the train this date. |
