ICG Shops (1)
Lojking south from the Pearl River Ave. overpass, the engine termial is on the right, the locomotive shop is the building with SAFETY FIRST above the doors, and the car shop complex is beyond there. The one-story gray building on the left, north of the 85-foot turntable, is in the area once occupied by a 30-stall roundhouse.

Switchman Images General Amazing, is ANYTHING left these days, Mike? 12/5/2010 1:01:57 AM
Michael Palmieri General The only thing left is the car shop, visible in the center background, which is used as a covered transloading facility. I would guess that any of the on-line aerial photos sites would show that just about everything else in the photo is gone. 12/5/2010 11:07:59 AM
Ralph C Price General Thanks, Mike. My grandfather started working in the Shops in 1924, and died on sick leave in 1970 with 46 years service. My Dad started working there in 1948 and retired as car foreman in 1992. I used to love to visit his office (not visible in the photo) when I was in high school. My brother is a freight conductor with 31 years service with CN, ICRR's successor. 3/15/2011 8:31:31 AM
