Ribbon. Here is the sixth of six successive original photos that I took at the Passenger Station in Larchmont, New York, on 29 August 1984. Shown here are some of the men and machines that are engaged in installing "ribbon rail" on this stretch of track. Note the bridge plate at the far left; it's used by passengers to exit and board passenger trains while Track 3 is out of service. The parking lot above the Station's platform also serves as a tunnel over six lanes of Interstate Highway 95. |
