The ERIE logo on the long hood of NJT 4210, History/heritage of NJT 4210. This engine was repainted by NJ Transit in October 2023, of teh ERrie's Balck and Yellwo paint scheme.. The Erie had a presence in northern NJ and is one of NJ Transit's predecessor railroads.. The 4210 was built by EMD in 1968 for the Pen Central RR and to be used in freight service. After the collapse of the Penn Central, this engine was passed to Conrail in 1976 before going to NJ Transit. This locmotive can be sen operasting on NJ Transit's Morristown, Montclair-Boonton, Main, Bergen, Pascack Valley and Atlantic City Lines.
