| B&O 902891 in Chessie System paint exists no more. And in a way that will be a positive thing. A collaboration of various local groups in Connellsville is restoring this and painting it in B&O red. On the right you can see a stack of railroad ties donated by CSX so that it will be able to rest on rails once again. This caboose sits on land that once was a P&LE railyard until the early 90s. Now this is a trailhead for the Great Allegheny Passage/Youghiogheny River Trail in Connellsville. The caboose will be a long-overdue welcome center for trail users. Groups involved in this restoration project include CSX, Stone and Company, Pizza King, Connellsville Area Career and Technical Center, Connellsville City, HObo Model Railroad Club, Yough River Trail Council, and various local individuals. |
