Long Island RR MU Special  Contributor's Pick!
Nice wintry photo of an express baggage car. Date and location are unknown. Just recently found this photo in the booklet, Electric Heritage of the Long Island Rail Road 1905-1975" by Ron Ziel. In the caption imentioned that this was a pre-Christmas special handling mail and parcels. The special consisting of an MPB-54 car and an MPBM-54 car. The photo is by Frank Zahn.

Tom Beckett General Definitely Mineola. That's the Mineola Blvd overpass in the distance. This location has changed a lot since this photo was taken. Track 2, the near track, will soon be the center track. The platform the photographer is stznding on is gone, the space taken by the new third track. A new platform is being built on the outside of the third track. 11/3/2021 4:07:01 AM
