Tom Beckett General Correct date on the photo is more like 1970 or so. The paint scheme on the third car arrived with the M 1's in 1968. Some older equipment-the P 72's, MP 72's and 75's got repainted in it, as well as one MP 70 double decker. The photo is looking west on the Atlantic Branch west of Jamaica. The portal to the Atlantic Av tunnel is in the distance-an eastbound train led by a round roof MP 54 is approaching from the tunnel-and that's Atlantic Av at left, which the line will follow all the way to its terminal in Brooklyn, mostly underground, but a short stretch elevated at Nostrand Av. 11/3/2021 4:11:33 AM
