| This building used to set beside the crossing at Pierce Street in Belfast. To put in perspective for folks over 60 that was the crossing at the eastern end of the old RT1 bridge coming into Belfast. The tender operated two manual gates to manage auto traffic over the crossing 'back in the day'. MEC used to build these in batches when the carpenter shop didn't have anything else to do. Since the MEC discontinued it's lease of the BML in the 1920s that places this building at or near 100 years old. /DL |
