Originally constructed as a 1000 series day coach for the Philadelphia & Reading Railway, this car was converted in 1929 to a rider car on the Erie Avenue relief train out of Philadelphia. Retired in the 1960s, it was sold to Rail Tours Inc. but never made it to the operation, floating around various areas in the suburban areas outside Philadelphia before being sold and moved to its current location. Today it serves as part of an antique shop with the old LV Dushore station along the abandoned State Line & Sullivan Branch. Original number believed to be P&R 1019. |
