Since the first grain train ran to the Port of Albany, we had been waiting for this day. The grain trains originated in Minneapolis, so we knew it was a matter of time before power from CP owned SOO Line came east. It finally happened on a Thursday night, the train going to Albany after darkness had fallen. The return trip, however was a home run. We could not have asked for a better situation. Clear sky, and the train called for 1330, setting up a westbound chase in perfect light. We followed him to Hornell. It was great. ABBU sits at the south end of Bevier St with two SOO units trailing CP 5674. |
