| The derails, doors, catenary, gantries, cranes and various associates gates, platforms, etc. are interlocked (mechanically and electrically) as to not permit inadvertent operation. For example, the interlock system prevents closing a train door on a live buffer. One of the parts of the interlock system is shown here.
