FM. Here is a duplicate 35mm B&W slide of a photo by Fred McLeod that was taken at the Horseshoe Curve near Altoona, Pennsylvania. Photo Caption: "A pair of I-1 engines helping 110-car freight up the grade. Single J-1 is on the front end. October 24, 1949." Shown here (L to R) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #4543 and another locomotive whose number is not recorded. Both are I-1SA (2-10-0) "Decapods." #4543 was built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works as an I-1S during August of 1923, rebuilt as an I-1SA in September of 1944, and retired in August of 1959 after 36 years of faithful service. Also visible is PRR N-5 cabin car #477747.
