PRR 830, K-4S, #1 of 3, c. 1957         
Here is the first of three original photos by Douglas C. Jones that were taken at the Coaling Tipple in East Altoona, Pennsylvania, c. 1957. Shown here is the front end of Pennsylvania Railroad engine #830, a K-4S (4-6-2) "Pacific" built in Juniata during July of 1917 and retired in April of 1958. Partially visible at the right is engine #6831, an M-1 (4-8-2) "Mountain" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works during September of 1926 and retired in August of 1955.
