On 24 April 1949 RENSSELAER TECH was being used by Pullman as an S&P (storage and porters) car at the Louisville & Nashville’s JULIA STREET YARD in New Orleans. The car had been completed as Plan 3951C baggage-buffet-club-barber shop car HALF MOON on 27 December 1926, was remodeled into Plan 3951G on 13 October 1931, and was renamed on 13 June 1938. It was withdrawn from regular service on 12 September 1943, designated as S&P car S-47 and placed at JULIA STREET YARD for use by Pullman personnel. |
