| We made one more quick stop before heading back to the hotel to photograph the BN U-Boat at Energy Park on the east side of Gillette. BN donated the unit to the city of Gillette when it was retired, and now the unit resides on display with other mining equipment in this small park. It definitely has seen better days, but it is really cool to see one of these big U-Boats that saw many, many years of service on the very tracks behind me still surviving today. This concluded Day 4. Probably wont see much in the way of trains tomorrow, but Im hoping to get a couple more shots around Donkey Creek Yard before heading up to South Dakota! |
