This is an early photo of Frisco 2-8-0 #1207 as it sat in the Birmingham, Alabama yard. Built by Burnham, Wms & Co (pre-Baldwin company) in March of 1907, it worked the Frisco subsidiaries CSNO&P and NOTM first. The loco lasted on the books through 3/1/1947 before disappearing. Specs - coal burner, 57" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 22x30" cylinders, engine weight of 198,000 lb, tractive effort of 43,300 lb. Arthur B. Johnson photo |
