Album Info:
Nice group of older b&w photos taken by Arthur B. Johnson of St Louis-San Francisco 2-8-0 Consolidations. These were used by the Frisco on their subsidiaries, the Colorado Southern, New Orleans & Pacific (CSNO&P) as well as New Orleans, Texas & Mexico (NOTM), before being on the Frisco main roster.

Description:
This is an early photo of Frisco 2-8-0 #1207 as it sat in the Birmingham, Alabama yard. Built by Burnham, Wms & Co (pre-Baldwin company) in March of 1907, it worked the Frisco subsidiaries CSNO&P and NOTM first. The loco lasted on the books through 3/1/1947 before disappearing. It appears that this Burnham, Wms & Co (Baldwin predecessor) built 2-8-0 Consolidation #1208 is sitting in the dead/scrap line at Springfield after serving nearly 41 years. According to the Baldwin records, it was scrapped in May of 1948 so it was still waiting when Arthur B Johnson took this photo. Specs - coal burner, 57" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 22x30" cylinders, engine weight of 198,000 lb, tractive effort of 43,300 lb.
