Standing in the Barringon, IL, yard on Christmas Day in 1955 was Chicago & North Western 4-6-2 Pacific #610 and ready to roll out. Built by Alco-Schenectady in October of 1916 as CNW #1612, it was later renumbered CNW 612 in 1952. No final disposition date was found for the loco but it would have been scrapped in the late 1950's. Specs - serial #56231, class E, 75" drivers, 185 psi boiler pressure, 25x28" cylinders, engine wt of 263,500 lb, tractive effort of 39,600 lb. A stoker was applied in May of 1942.
