One of the nearly 200 4-6-2 Pacifics that was the backbone of Chicago & North Western commuter service for decades, CNW 4-6-2 #615 is an excellent example of the E class. Built by Alco-Schenectady in October of 1916 as CNW #1615, it was later renumbered to simply CNW 615 in 1952. No final disposition date was found but it would have been scrapped by late 1950's. Specs - class E, 75" drivers, 185 psi boiler pressure, 25x28" cylinders, engine wt of 263,500 lb, tractive effort of 39,600 lb. A stoker was applied in July of 1943.
