| Wearing a faux VIA Rail paint scheme, Amtrak 5428 was built by Budd in 1946 as PRR 4048. It would become Penn Central 4048 in 1968. In 1973, the car was sold to Amtrak, being renumbered to 5428. It was stored in 1981 and sold to Denver Railcar in 1983. The car was sold to a private owner in the early 2000s and moved to Pueblo. The VIA scheme dates to a film appearance. |
