Conrail 2233 is this gorgeous EMD GP30 built in 1963 for the Pennsylvania Railroad. She served with the PRR until going to Penn Central, until later going to Conrail. She was retired from Conrail in the 80s, and was privately owned by the West Shore Railroad Corporation in Conrail paint, in use for excursions in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania. In 1988, the 2233 was repainted into the units original Pennsylvania Railroad livery by the private owner. After the owner passed away, the 2233 went to the Railroad Musuem of Pennsylvania, in Strasburg, where shes on display today. What a life she has lived. One of my favorite things I have ever shot by far. |
