Oil Power. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide of Pennsylvania Railroad engine #2414, an AF-25 built by the American Locomotive Company in October of 1962 and rated at 2,500 horsepower. Partially visible at the left is PRR engine #7099, an EFS-17M constructed by GM-EMD in November of 1956 and rated at 1,750 horsepower. And partially visible at the right is PRR engine #2214, an EF-22 built by GM-EMD in March of 1963 and rated at 2,250 horsepower. Note the hawk, circling in the sky, searchin' for snacks! The photographer's name, the exact date, and the location are not recorded. |

Tipton. Here is an original photo that I took of a Pennsylvania Railroad train in Tipton, Pennsylvania, on 12 July 1964. Shown here (R to L) are PRR engines #2414, 2526, a unit whose number was not recorded, and engine #2267. #2414 is an AF-24 built by the American Locomotive Company in 1962 and rated at 2,400 horsepower. #2526 is a GF-25 built by General Electric in 1962 and rated at 2,500 horsepower. #2267 is an EF-25 built by EMD in 1964 and rated at 2,500 horsepower. They are pulling a 42-car eastbound TrucTrain along with caboose #477472. |
