PRR 3123, H-6SB, 1939
Description:
Here is an original photo by Wesley H. Winant that was taken at South Delaware Avenue in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on 20 August 1939. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #3123, an H-6SB (2-8-0) "Consolidated" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works as an H-6B during 1906, rebuilt as an H-6SB in June of 1916, and sold to the Chinese Manchurian Railway in August of 1939. After comparing the site to other photos, this H class Consolidation sits in what apprears to be the yard at Renovo, PA although not marked on the back. No photographer or date was listed either. Warren Evans helped by identifiying the car to the side as a 1951 Ford so it puts the date sometime after 1951. Thanks, Warren!
