Description:
This 4-6-0 ten wheeler built by Baldwin in September of 1900 led a long and multi-numbered life.Originally built as CMSt&P Vauclain compound 4-6-0 #312, it went through many numbers - in 9/1906 to CMStP #1612, in 11/1912 to CMStP #4212, simplified & renumbered in 2/1921 to CMStP #2766, in 1/1926 to CMStP #2760, and finally renumbered in 8/1938 to CMStP&P #1100. After nearly 50 years of service, the loco was scrappe din February of 1950. Simplfied specs - 69" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 22x26" cylinders, engine wt of 187,600 lb, tractive effort of 31,004 lb and superheated. No photographer was listed for the photo.

Built by Baldwin in August of 1900, MILW 4-6-0 #1104 started out as CMSt&P Vauclain compound 4-6-0 #302. However, the Milwaukee Shops were busy renumbering these locos - renumbered in 10/1906 to CMStP #1602, renumbered in 1/1913 to CMStP #4202, simplified & renumbered in 5/1926 to CMStP #2764, and finally renumbered in 6/1938 to CMStP&P #1104. After nearly 54 years of service, the loco was scrapped in September of 1954. Description:
This loco wore many numbers during its lifetime. Built by Baldwin in September of 1900 as Chicago, Milwaukee & St Paul Vauclain compound 4-6-0 ten wheeler #320, the Milwaukee Shops were kept busy renumbering this loco - in 11/1906 to CMStP #1620, renumberred in 11/1912 to CMStP #4220, simplified & renumbered to CMStP #2772, and finally renumbered to CMStP&P #1110. One of the few non-Baldwin 4-6-0's, MILW #1129 was built by ALCO-Brooks in January of 1909 as Chicago, Milwukee & St Paul Vauclain compound ten wheeler #4007. It was changed just a few times after that - renumbered in October of 1912 to CMStP #2707, renumbered in 1927 to CMStP&P #2707, and finally renumbered in June of 1938 to MILW #1129. The locs's last run was December of 1944 and was retired and scrapped in October of 1945. Specs - 73" dribvers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 20 1/2x26" cylinders, engine wt of 178,000 lb and modes tractive effort of 25,445 lb. No photographer was listed for the photo.

MILW 4-6-0 #1187 - Milwaukee Road
Description:
During its lifetime, Milwaukee Road #1187 has had 6 different numbers. Starting in December of 1895 when it was built by Baldwin (Burnham, Wms & Co), the loco was originally Chicago, Milwaukee & St Paul Vauclain compound 4-6-0 ten wheeler #829 but it didn't stay that way for long - renumbered in 4/1899 to CMStP #202, renumbered in 11/1905 to CMStP #840, rebuilt & renumbered in 3/1913 to CMStP #2252, and finally renumbered in 7/1938 to CMStP&P #1187. After serving nearly 50 years, the loco was scrapped in October of 1945. Simplified specs - 63" drivers, 180 psi boiler pressure, 19x26" cylinders, modest engine wt of 132,500 lb nad modest tractive effort of 22,794 lb. No photographer was listed for the photo.

Description:
Built by the Burnham, Wms & Company (Baldwin predecessor) in December of 1895, the loco was originally Chicago, Milwaukee & St Paul Vauclain compound 4-6-0 #830 but not for long. It was renumbered in 4/1899 to CMStP #203, renumbered in 11/1905 to CMStP #841, renumbered in 12/1912 to CMStP #4003, rebuilt & renumbered in 7/1914 to CMStP #2253, and finally renumbered in 6/1938 to CMStP&P #1188. After serving nearly 50 years, the loco was scrapped in October of 1945. Simplified specs - 63" drivers, 180 psi boiler pressure, 19x26" cylinders, modest engine wt of 132,500 lb nad modest tractive effort of 22,794 lb. No photographer was listed for the photo.

Description:
Obviously taken as this once proud locomotive now sits in the dead/scrap line. Originally built in August of 1897 by Burnham, Wms & Company (Baldwin predecessor) as Chicago, Milwaukee & St Paul #845, it was a Vauclain compound 4-6-0 ten wheeler. It didn't stay #845 for long - renumbered in 4/1899 to CMStP #214, renumbered in 11/1905 to CMStP #852, renumbered in 11/1912 to CMStP #4014, simplified & renumbered in 6/1915 to CMStP 2264, renumbered in 7/1938 to CMStP&P #1198. It was scrapped later inMay of 1940. Simplified specs - 63" drivers, 180 psi boiler pressure, 19x26" cylinders, modest engine wt of 132,500 lb and modest tractive effort of 22,794 lb. No date, location or photographer was listed for the photo so approximates were used.

New rack
Description:
This is one of the first cars I have seen with the new CPKC herald on it, one of several in this northbound KCS train. This one is actually lettered for KCSM. Not sure what the Hourglass designation is in regard to. Have not seen that before.
